Today I upgraded the Joomla! back-end to version 2.5. The long expected new stable for 1.5 years release of Joomla. I had some issues with the upgrading because of proxy problems, so I downloaded the upgrade package, unzipped it and uploaded it to the web site with FTP. And it all seems to work! Now I can go and upgrade all other web sites I maintain (work and private) to this version. Especially all modules and the templates will be interesting to see if it all works. Migrating 1.5 sites towards 2.5 is for several sites a mega operation.

From next Monday until Februari 12th you are challenged to program the best solution for a game again. This is organized by the ACM Queue magazine. More information can be found on their website: http://queue.acm.org/icpc/.

I am seriously thinking of participating. Although I have too much work on hands at the moment.

Since last week I have put my Connect6 program MakeIt6 active on the LittleGolem game server. The first tournament was not much of a success, but that is all in the game as we have at the moment only implemented a rough random search for one ply deep. Next thing to do is fix a bug that does not block a four stone threat.
